Calm before the storm for Sheedy

THE last week before the first championship match of the season, one would imagine, is the most demanding, the most stressful, in the life of any manager.

Calm before the storm for Sheedy

Far from it, says Tipperary’s Liam Sheedy, as he prepares his side for the journey to Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday and yet another tilt with Cork in the Munster senior hurling championship.

“In fact it’s one of the weeks when I’m at home a lot more than usual,” he says. “The two girls, Aisling and Gemma (Liam’s daughters) keep me busy, they’re at the right age – they don’t understand everything that’s going on. You can have the craic, have the laugh with them – they still expect to you to be there on Sunday morning, drive them down to Cork. That’s actually very helpful.”
