Cusack: I got hate mail over my book

DONAL ÓG CUSACK has spoken of the hate mail his autobiography has provoked.

“Of course I get negative correspondence, people telling me how I’m going to die and that kind of lovely stuff, but that’s only a minority. It doesn’t bother me. Most people have been positive and I get a kick out of people saying ‘I really enjoyed reading the book’ or ‘I don’t agree with you on everything but I enjoyed the book’.

“The offer to write the book was there for a couple of years and I went with it because a fair bit of stuff had happened and I’d played a role in them, the Cork strikes and the GPA and so on.
