Dubs duo are fitness doubts

DUBLIN boss Pat Gilroy’s preparations for their Leinster SFC opener against Wexford on June 13 are being upset as doubts emerge over the fitness of attackers Blaine Kelly and Conal Keaney.

Dubs duo are fitness doubts

Kelly suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder with his club St Mary’s Saggart in their Dublin SFC defeat to St Maur’s on Saturday. Key attacker Keaney sat out Ballyboden St Enda’s successful opening defence of their title on Friday at Parnell Park against Trinity Gaels due to a quad injury. Defender Ross O’Carroll continues to be rated doubtful as ongoing back and hamstring problems ruled him out of Kilmacud Crokes first-round success over Parnells

Meanwhile Wicklow wing-back Patrick McWalter looks set to be ruled out for the remainder of the championship after cracking his kneecap in their Leinster SFC victory against Carlow in Portlaoise on Saturday. He underwent an operation on his knee in Tullamore hospital yesterday. The problem now looks set to rule the St Patrick’s club man out for the rest of the summer and manager Mick O’Dwyer also is likely to be without Ciaran Hyland.
