Cooper set for championship return after ‘successful’ eye surgery

KERRY GAA chiefs have described Colm Cooper’s eye surgery as ‘successful’ and expect the All-Ireland winner to return to training in the near future.

A specialist surgeon completed the operation in Dublin yesterday to correct damage to Cooper’s right tear duct which he sustained in the NFL Division One victory over Monaghan.

The news eased fears that Cooper’s participation in the All-Ireland championship was in doubt following the injury he sustained on Sunday.
