Stynes stable after surgery

IRISH-BORN Aussie Rules legend, Jim Stynes, is in a stable condition after undergoing further treatment for cancer. The Melbourne president had a three-hour surgery yesterday to remove four tumours that were causing severe headaches.

Stynes has been keeping the public informed about his treatment through Twitter, and last Sunday, revealed that he would be going under the knife again: “Heading bk 2 hospital this week 4 more surgery. looking fwd 2 it as it will clear up headaches +allow me to exercise again. Happy Easter all”.

A club spokesman said that Stynes would continue to use the Twitter account to communicate his progress to members and supporters.
