Moran to miss Monaghan clash

DAVID MORAN has been ruled out of Kerry’s crucial NFL Division One clash against Monaghan next Sunday in Killarney after fracturing his thumb during the county’s warm-weather training camp in Portugal.

The Kerins O’Rahilly’s player sustained the injury on Saturday during a full-scale training game and is set to be sidelined for a number of weeks.

However as Sunday’s game is Kerry’s final match in the NFL, it is likely to be the only game of consequence Moran will miss ahead of the Munster SFC opener against Tipperary on May 16. However, Kerry boss Jack O’Connor will be able to call upon 2009 Footballer of the Year Paul Galvin, back after suspension.
