Keane support for Dubs’ Supple

IPSWICH TOWN manager Roy Keane has wished former Tractor Boys goalkeeper Shane Supple the best of luck for his career in Gaelic football with Dublin.

Keane support for Dubs’ Supple

The 22-year-old, who sensationally walked out on his career as a professional footballer in August, will be on the bench for Dublin for the first time during their NFL Division 1 game with Mayo at McHale Park, tomorrow

A former Republic of Ireland U21 soccer international, Supple is now training to become a garda back in Dublin and has been playing for St Brigid’s, although he has recently been out of action after undergoing knee surgery.

Keane said: “Of course we wish him luck. The standard (in GAA) is very, very good. It must be if he’s on the bench, they must have a good goalkeeper.

“I think he’ll do well in whatever he decides to do because he’s an intelligent boy and everyone from Ipswich wishes him well.”
