KEN McGRATH hopes to be back with the Waterford senior hurling team within a month, saying he’s “mad to play” for the county again and his injured knee is improving, albeit slowly.

“Being honest, I’m very hopeful,” said McGrath. “I’m mad to play but I’d say I’m a month away from playing. I’m still trying to build up the knee and it’s a very, very slow process.

“I have been training since Christmas but I’ve been doing no running, no real aerobic work. I just have to build up the knee and while I’m getting there, it’s just a very long process. But I’m mad to play. Fingers crossed, it’ll be right.
