Death of ex-Limerick star Fitzgerald

THE death has occurred of former Limerick inter-county dual player Danny Fitzgerald.

The Claughaun man starred for the Limerick hurlers during the 80’s, winning NHL medals as a centre-forward in 1984 and 1985.

Fitzgerald was also an accomplished footballer, scoring four points from play in the 1991 Munster SFC final when Limerick were narrowly defeated by Kerry, 0-23 to 3-12.
