Cussen opts for Cork hurlers

MICHAEL CUSSEN has quit Cork’s senior football squad to concentrate on making the Rebels’ hurling panel in 2010.

Cussen has impressed in recent seasons at full-forwards for Sarsfields in the county senior hurling championship and the aerial ability of the 6’7 attacker would be a major boost to Cork coach Denis Walsh in the new season.

The 25-year-old was a member of the Rebels U21 hurling side in 2005 but since 2007 has concentrated on the big ball code at inter-county level.
