Night games dominate league schedule

GAA action will light up Saturday nights next spring with 36 National League games to take place under floodlights in 2010.

Croke Park yesterday confirmed the scheduling arrangements for next year’s NFL and NHL with Saturday night clashes dominating the programme. The action begins on Saturday February 6th with four floodlight games, two in Division 1 and two in Division 2, and in all 14 counties will stage floodlight matches over the course of the league campaign.

For some counties it will represent a new chapter in their GAA history with McHale Park in Castlebar hosting Mayo’s first NFL game under lights on February 6th against Joe Kernan’s Galway.
