Kilgallon point saves Celbridge

SUPER-SUB Trevor Kilgallon struck for a point eight minutes into injury time to rescue defending champions Celbridge in yesterday’s Kildare SFC semi-final against St Laurence’s, on a 2-8 to 1-11 scoreline in Newbridge.

St Laurence’s, who are chasing their first senior title, had led for most of the second half and looked to have held out but Kilgallon struck late on to set up a replay which is likely to take place next week.

Celbridge led at the interval by 2-3 to 1-5, despite conceding a fifth-minute goal to Dessie Lawler.
