CARLOW football could be celebrating on the double this week as two of its top players could be set for a return to the county squad next season.

News broke in Australia yesterday that Brendan Murphy, a star of the side that reached the 2007 Leinster MFC final, is to quit the Sydney Swans and return home.

Murphy may be joined in the Carlow ranks by Thomas Walsh whose switch from Baltinglass to his native club of Fenagh was completed last weekend when he lined out in the Carlow county championship.
