TIPPERARY legend John Leahy wants the county to regain its place amongst the hurling superpowers.

Leahy admits the Premier’s return of three All-Irelands in 38 years is a record “we are not proud of” and hopes the tide will turn in next month’s final clash with four-in-row chasing Kilkenny.

Leahy, who also won championship medals in 1989 and ‘91, admitted that the years in the wilderness hurts.
