O’Sullivan delighted with Miskella reprieve

CORK County Board chairman Jerry O’Sullivan said he was delighted John Miskella was cleared to play in next month’s All-Ireland SFC decider and insisted that it would have been ‘a tragedy’ if the Ballincollig man had been suspended.

The GAA announced yesterday no further action would be taken over the incident involving Miskella and Tyrone attacker Brian McGuigan during the second-half of last Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

Miskella made contact with McGuigan and received a yellow card after referee John Bannon consulted with one of his umpires.
