Barr’s v Erin’s Own clash postponed
The match was originally pencilled in as part of a double-header on Saturday night in Páirc Uí Chaoimh with Sarsfields and Na Piarsaigh, but instead the quarter-final tie between Glen Rovers and Newtownshandrum has been brought back from Sunday night to Saturday night.
St Finbarr’s had proposed playing the match on Friday night but work commitments involving Erin’s Own players ruled out that possibility.
The quarter-final Bride Rovers and Cork IT now is the only senior match scheduled for Sunday and will be preceded by the IHC quarter-final between Éire Óg and Blackrock, a game that was originally fixed for Ballincollig. But due to St Finbarr’s not being involved in senior championship action this weekend, it was decided to play the U21 county football final between St Finbarr’s and Ballincollig on Sunday night, which prevented the Mid-Cork club from being able to host the intermediate hurling game.
Finally the Dripsey and Aghada IHC quarter-final fixed for tonight has been switched to tomorrow night, due to a bereavement in the Aghada club. It will now form part of a double-header with the IFC semi-final between Carrigaline and Fermoy.
