Momentum is with in-form Armagh

ARMAGH enter the All-Ireland MFC quarter-final against Kildare at Kingspan Breffni Park (2pm) on the back of a hot streak of form.

Momentum is with in-form Armagh

They downed a fancied Tyrone side in the Ulster quarter-final and confidently dispatched Monaghan in the semi-final.

The provincial final meeting with Down was a low-key encounter but in a tight match, Armagh held their nerve to ensure a win with Rory Grugan striking late points. Grugan has been in excellent scoring form all year with Robbie Tasker and Gavin McParland their other key attackers.

Kildare will have plenty regrets at being unable to generate a Leinster title, drawing against Dublin in the provincial final and being overturned after extra-time in the final replay. Aussie Rules target Paul Cribbin is their standout operator while Thomas Moolick, Cian Reynolds and Darrock Mulhall also have big roles to play.

But Armagh’s momentum means they look the stronger.

Verdict: Armagh
