Cavan to decide on Carr fate next week

OUTGOING Cavan football supremo Tommy Carr remains at the helm in the Breffni County after a dramatic county board meeting last night.

A decision by the management committee of Cavan GAA to give Carr a vote of confidence took the meeting by surprise and although a vote of no confidence in Carr was proposed from the floor, it was decided to hold off any decision on the manager’s future until a further meeting on Tuesday next.

On Wednesday last, the management committee had indicated their wish to see Carr consider his position but last night’s meeting concluded with club delegates deciding to return to their clubs to obtain a mandate regarding their wishes concerning Carr’s future.
