GAA legends raise €50,000 for various charities

OVER €50,000 was raised for various charities nationwide by the second annual GAA Legends Golf Charity Inter-Shield Championship held recently in La Cala in Spain.

Former greats from both codes participated in the event which was founded and organised by ex-Meath All Star Bernard Flynn and which is served by former Armagh manager Joe Kernan as secretary.

The Tipperary team took home the overall prize of €25,000 for their chosen charity, the Tipperary Hospice. Overall, over 120 former greats took part in the event earlier this month.
