Cusack to strike again with autobiography

JUST when you thought it had gone away, brace yourself for another outpouring of angst on the Cork GAA player strikes.

Cusack to strike again with autobiography

Cork hurling goalkeeper, Donal Óg Cusack, pictured, has been a central anddivisive figure in the three political collisions between players and administrators in Cork, and it’s been confirmed the Cloyne man is now working on his autobiography, which is to be published before the end of the year.

“With extraordinary frankness and detail, Dónal Óg Cusack tells the story of his life on and off the pitch and of the dramatic row that has kept a great and proud hurling side on the sidelines,” declared one public relations blurb yesterday. The book will be co-written with leading sportswriter, Tom Humphries, but contrary to suggestions, will not be called ‘Lift and Strike’.

Added the promotion: “It promises to be the frankest and most controversial book by a GAA player in the history of the organisation.”

The publication of Cusack’s autobiography will increase speculation that the three-time All-Ireland winner is to quit inter-county hurling after this campaign.
