Multi-talented Lucey ready for duel with Déise

NO MATTER what happens in Thurles this Sunday in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship semi-final between Limerick and Waterford, Stephen Lucey is already guaranteed a Munster final day out.

Full-back with the hurlers, the Croom native is also a defensive star for the Limerick senior footballers and last week, in Ennis, it was his early point from play that started the Shannonsiders on the road to victory over Clare, and a place in the Munster football final against either Cork or Kerry.

So, Stephen, as a guy who went through the dual status grindstone a few years ago, where do you find the time? What actually brought you back? Surprisingly, he’s momentarily caught off guard. “I don’t know really,” he says, “I actually don’t.”
