Shefflin: forget talk of four-in-a-row

ANOTHER championship and another chance to make history for Kilkenny’s hurlers. This season’s carrot is to match Cork’s four-in-a-row in the All-Ireland series, set 65 years ago. However former Hurler of the Year Henry Shefflin insists he and his colleagues wouldn’t be caught up in the hype of attempting to join the Rebels in the record books.

Shefflin: forget talk of four-in-a-row

Shefflin insisted: “I don’t think we are any way conscious of that at all. Last year, obviously, people talked about three-in-a-row, but there wasn’t any talk of it (among the players) until we got to the final.”

Making it to September remains Shefflin’s primary focus. He said: “You have to get there and put yourself in the position to have that talk.
