Conor Garvey, from the Mayobridge club, is named at centre-back, while Paul McCumiskey starts at corner-forward.McCumiskey made a return from a serious back injury last March and went on to star for Down U21s in their run to the All-Ireland final which they narrowly lost to Cork.
John Boyle, from the Warrenpoint club, and Annaclone’s Brendan McArdle join McCumiskey in the forward line.
Benny Coulter has not been named on the starting line up as he has been struggling with injury.
Meanwhile, Fermanagh skipper Martin McGrath has recovered from a knee problem.
But Ryan McCluskey, back from playing Irish League football, has been left out at centre-back, while there is no place for corner-back Shane Goan.
Chris Breen starts at the expense of 2008 goalkeeper Ronan Gallagher.
Tempo clubman Daryl Keenan and Ryan Carson of Newtownbutler make their Championship debuts for the Ernemen.
As expected, former All-Star defender Barry Owens is not in the team.
He has made a slow recovery from a cruciate ligament injury and was not able to take a full part in training.
McCluskey was regarded as a likely starter despite only returning to the squad over the past week.
He missed the entire National League because of his commitments with Portadown in the IFA Championship.
Shane McDermott plays at number six while Hugh Brady is preferred to Goan at left corner back.
Meanwhile, six players involved in the ugly brawl in a senior football league game between Rathnew and Stratford have been given minimum suspensions of a month each by Wicklow’s Competitions Controls Committee.
The committee moved quickly to deal with the matter after receiving the report of Wicklow town official Eddie Leonard.
Referee Leonard issued red cards to three players from each team at the end of the vicious row that resulted in one Stratford player being hospitalised and a Rathnew player reported to have lost two teeth.
The clubs were each fined €1,000 and warned by Wicklow’s Competitions Control Committee as to their future conduct.
