Fermanagh have never won a provincial senior title but they negotiated a passage all the way through to the decider last year, for the first time since 1982, only to be beaten by Armagh after a replay.

Though eight points down in the first encounter, Malachy O’Rourke’s side dominated vast tracts of that game and may well have claimed the win. Now, like himself, they find themselves at the foot of the hill all over again.
