WHAT have bouncy castles, fireworks displays and donkey derbies all got in common? Give up? The answer is that all are barred from the thousands of GAA premises up and down the land, a fact which a large number of clubs only realised in the run-up to today’s Lá na gClub.

The association is hoping that over 2,000 GAA clubs around the country will celebrate the 125th anniversary with games and events.

Bouncy castles, it appears, was one of the most popular ideas among committees aiming to attract people to their local clubhouse but that prompted the GAA’s Risk and Insurance manager Roger Clancy into action.
