Starlet Hogan gets nod for decider
With Ritchie Power out of the reckoning, through injury, it was always on the cards that the talented underage star would earn his spurs.
Hogan takes over from Martin Comerford from the team that defeated Dublin last time out but there are no place for full-back Noel Hickey or midfielder James ‘Cha’ Fitzpatrick, both of whom played club games last weekend.
Hickey has not worn the Kilkenny shirt since last year’s All-Ireland final because of a groin injury, while Fitzpatrick missed the last group game against Dublin because of an attack of mumps.
JJ Delaney continues in the full back position with Michael Rice getting the nod at midfield, while Henry Shefflin is named at centre half forward with Eddie Brennan, TJ Reid and Aidan Fogarty filling the full forward line berths.
The Wexford team to play Offaly in the Allianz National Hurling League Divison Two Final tomorrow shows just one change from the team which defeated Carlow last time out.
Sharp shooter, Pat Kenny retains his place, having had a dream debut against Carlow scoring 3-3. Richie Kehoe, comes in at wing back with Ciarán Kenny moving to midfield and Stephen Doyle dropping to the bench. Otherwise, it’s as you were as Colm Bonnar and his selectors hope to guide Wexford to take their place in Division One for 2010.
Having past late fitness tests David Franks and David Kenny return to the Offaly team.
Franks, because of a back muscle injury, and Kenny laid low with a hamstring problem, missed the Faithful County’s last two games in the group section.
Franks is named at right corner back with Kenny taking over the full back position.
