O’Connor to get green light on Wednesday

JACK O’CONNOR won’t have long to dwell on the disappointment of yesterday’s dramatic Kerry football final defeat to Mid Kerry.

O’Connor to get green light on Wednesday

The Dromid man will be ratified as Kerry coach at a county board meeting on Wednesday, along with his new management team. That will feature Ger O’Keeffe and Eamonn Fitzmaurice as selectors, while Alan O’Sullivan, O’Connor’s physical trainer with O’Rahillys, will now fulfil the same role with Kerry.

O’Sullivan, a brother of Munster rugby player, John, has already been part of the backroom team with the Kerry U-21s. Pat Flanagan will assist with weight programmes etc, on a part-time basis. Flanagan was the trainer to Kerry’s All-Ireland winning squads of 2004 and 2006 under Jack O’Connor. Ger O’Keeffe was also a selector from 2004-2006.
