First-half goals do the damage as Csatlehaven master 14-man Nemo

Castlehaven 3-9 Nemo Rangers 0-9

Castlehaven goaled three times before half-time to lead by 10 points at the break, 3-4 to 0-3. They also had a man to spare for a lot of the game, Nemo full-forward Alan

Morgan getting the line on 25 minutes.

Alan Cronin managed a point in the opening minute but that was the only time Nemo led in the game. Roy Heaphy then saved superbly from Bernie Collins only for Sean Cahalane to goal from the rebound.

James Masters and Paul Kerrigan added to Cronin’s point, Seanie Cahalane pointed for the ‘Haven and then free man Mark Cahalane broke clear of the Nemo defence in the 28th minute for the west Cork side’s second goal.

Then a 40-metre free from Seanie Cahalane deceived Heaphy and ended up in the net again.

Masters and Bernie Collins traded points and then Masters and Mehigan added two more for Nemo.

Masters then hit the post, Mehigan came close, and Kerrigan and Martin Cronin also tried for goals but Castlehaven weren’t in charitable mood, and they finished well, with two good points from Bernie Collins late on.

Scorers for Castlehaven: S Cahalane 2-2, (1-2f), B Collins 0-4, M Cahalane 1-0, R Whelton 0-1.

Scorers for Nemo Rangers: J Masters 0-4 (0-3f), A Cronin, D Mehigan, P Kerrigan 0-1 each.
