Red mist: eight sent off in fiery Tyrone clashes

Champions Dromore defeated Coalisland 0-12 to 0-6 in a repeat of last year’s final but suffered a setback when Tyrone minor captain Ronan McNabb received a straight red. Coalisland’s Peter Donnelly was also sent off.

Tyrone minor star Kyle Coney scored 2-5 in Ardboe’s 2-16 to 2-6 win over Eglish who had Brendan Donnelly sent off with a second yellow.

Clonoe, managed by new Derry boss Damien Cassidy, sent Carrickmore crashing out (0-11 to 0-8). Carrickmore had Paul Daly (two yellows) and Gabriel McCallan (straight red) sent off in the closing stages, with Clonoe’s Stephen McCann also dismissed.

Donaghmore booked their place in the semi-finals with a 1-12 to 0-8 over Kildress at Pomeroy. Kildress had three sent off late on — Niall Quinn, Martin Loughran and Frank McGurk — with straight red cards.
