Looking good for Series

I WATCHED the International Rules squad go through their paces in Croke Park last Friday.

Looking good for Series

I was impressed by the commitment and camaraderie of the players. Despite the opprobrium about violence in the last series, the inability of the Irish to compete in pure football terms was also significant. Sean Boylan seems to have addressed that. The Irish boys moved with great agility and purpose.

That was where the Aussies out-manoeuvred us two years ago. The series will be crucial both from a disciplinary and football viewpoint — two competitive, clean tests would do an awful lot to restore confidence in the Series.
