While association president Nickey Brennan commented that it would be a ‘very poor reflection’ of county officers if they failed to police the new regulations, director-general Paraic Duffy has warned that there will be very strict monitoring from Croke Park.

Following on the decision taken last year to ban collective training for senior inter-county panels in November and December, the weekend special congress agreed that commencement dates for training for Under 21 football teams should be January 1, for minor hurling and football March 1 and under-21 hurling April 1.
