Coney in AFL rethink after Tyrone win

SEAN CAVANAGH’S duties towards Tyrone football weren’t confined to the Croke Park pitch last Sunday week.

Coney in AFL rethink after Tyrone win

The Moy player met minor star and Sydney Swans target Kyle Coney in the players’ lounge afterwards and the indications now are that the youngster will stay in Ireland.

“He’s probably being lured in that he isn’t going into a big career here,” said Cavanagh. “He’s only 18 and he’s going to have to get a trade now. The lure of the money and the lifestyle over in Australia sounded good at the time but, with Tyrone going so well with the seniors and the minors, he’s maybe had a slight rethink.”
