Casey’s advance

FR CASEY’S secured the last place in the Limerick SFC semi-finals.

Casey’s advance

The 2006 champions overcame Pallasgreen 0-15 to 1-10 in Saturday’s quarter-final replay in Bruff. The Abbeyfeale side will now play champions Ballylanders in the last four.

After trailing at the interval, four points inside the opening 10 minutes of the second half from Thomas Collins, Padraig McEnery and sub John O’Riordan set Fr Casey’s on their way.

Pallasgreen led at half-time, 1-7 to 0-8. Their goal came on 10 minutes from Alan Wallace, who also added a first-half point. Three John O’Connell frees had ‘Pallas’ ahead 1-4 to 0-1 after 12 minutes.

Scores from Billy Quirke (3 frees), Padraig McEnery (2) and Robert Browne (3) started the Fr Casey’s fightback and they cut the lead to two points at the break.

Last season’s beaten finalists Dromcollogher/Broadford face St Senans in the second semi-final. Both semis take place on October 5.
