Last Saturday, Rafa Benitez’ Liverpool scored two late goals to win a game they looked likely to lose — much to Counihan’s relief and delight. And we know what happened the following day in Croke Park.

“I said to some reporter after the game that I was listening to the Liverpool game on Saturday and saying how they were ‘hanging in,’ and the next thing they got a goal — and then another. I made that comparison (with Cork),” he explained.
