Geaney: Kerry wide boys must improve

KERRY selector Sean Geaney says the way Cork were able to come back so strongly in Croke Park on Sunday and spoil the party for Kerry was ‘an eye-opener’ for the Kingdoms players.

After losing eight points advantages both in the Munster final and the League decider against Derry, the message for the All-Ireland champions in training this week will be very clear: they must “drive on” if they are to make it to the final and keep alive their hopes of three-in-a-row.

“The lads will know that they just have to finish games better and that when we have a lead we put the foot to the pedal to the very end,’’ said Geaney.
