In Dublin yesterday to receive his award as the ‘Opel Gaelic Player of the Month’ for July, he also expressed the view that Kilkenny are not only close to being unstoppable in their bid to complete the treble, but that they could go on to dominate the championship for another few years.

“They are quite unbelievable. After five weeks of a lay-off it’s ridiculous how good they played. It’s almost frightening for any county to look at them,’’ he commented, adding that no other county which had been inactive for that long ‘would have had the performance in them’ than the champions showed they had.
