McGrath: write us off at your peril

WATERFORD’S “converted” full-back Ken McGrath, who rose to second-half stellar heights in a position forced upon him, said the Decies got out of jail and were more than happy to settle for their one-point win.

McGrath: write us off at your peril

“Before anyone starts getting carried away, however, they shouldn’t forget that we are no further down the road right now to All-Ireland glory than we were this time last year. To even get to the final we still have a massive semi-final against Tipp,” said McGrath.

He said it was no surprise to him, or the rest of the team, the way Wexford had put it up to them. “We expected they would and they certainly didn’t disappoint us on that score,’’ he said. “Wexford never make it easy for us and today most definitely was no exception.”
