Galvin makes last ditch attempt to save season
Galvin, suspended for six months after an incident involving Tipperary referee Paddy Russell in Kerry’s first-round win over Clare, has exhausted all other possibilities at having the sentence overturned or lessened.
The Finuge man delayed the meeting so not as to interfere with the Kingdom’s Munster final preparations.
A Kerry County Board spokesperson last night said they would not make any comment on the matter.
The DRA according to their website: “is independent of the GAA and maintains a panel of Arbitrators from which it establishes Arbitration Tribunals to deal with disputes referred to it.
“The Panel comprises Solicitors, Barristers, Arbitrators and persons ‘who, by virtue of their experience and expertise in the affairs of the Association, are properly qualified to resolve disputes relating to the Rules of the Association.”
Meanwhile the Munster Council have confirmed that Cork’s U21 HC semi-final against Clare will be played on Monday night. The game was due to be played this week but has been pushed back because of Cork’s progression to the next phase of the All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers.
