Clinical hitman O’Brien delivers in style

IT WAS one of the good days in the Gaelic Grounds yesterday, a day to enjoy.

It was not a classic, but a good game nevertheless, with plenty of fine individual hurling, and in the second half, once Clare finally kicked themselves into gear, we had ourselves a contest.

That the contest didn’t last right to the death, that Tipperary spent the final quarter of an hour or so comfortably protecting an eight-point cushion, was due to the critical intervention of one man.
