MODIFICATIONS to the playing laws of the International Rules are in the offing ahead of the revival of the series later this year.

A cap could be placed on the number of handballs permitted before a player has to kick the round ball as a further concession to the Irish team for the resurrected Rules series.

While the agreement that players who are suspended in the series would serve their suspensions in their domestic competitions was central to the GAA agreeing to recommence the hybrid rules concept, both codes have yet to finalise further changes before the competition resumes in October.
