Erne County enjoys a taste of the Rebel life

THE reaction to last Saturday’s Halifax/GPA-sponsored training session by Cork’s Donal Óg Cusack and Jerry Wallace in Fermanagh was universally positive in the Erne County, and it’s unlikely to be the last session of its type.

Cork were twinned with Fermanagh in the new initiative, which aims to develop hurling in non-traditional hurling counties. Cork ‘keeper Cusack and Cork trainer Wallace took the Fermanagh players for a session at the county’s training centre in Lissan, and Ger McNally was unequivocal about its benefits.

“Without a doubt it was one of the best training sessions we’ve had all year,” said the Fermanagh ‘keeper.
