Rebel legends back Counihan to shine in hot seat

THE appointment of Conor Counihan will be widely endorsed by Cork football people, according to Colman Corrigan, who played behind him in the 1987 and 1988 All-Ireland finals.

It’s a view also shared by his former captain Denis Allen, with whom he shared in the last back-to-back title wins in the following two years.

Anthony Davis, another former team-mate who played alongside him in the half-back line in two finals, also sung his praises.
