Clinical Kilkenny boys too good for sorry St Peter’s
The visitors took a sixth-minute lead when Brian Kennedy goaled to leave them 1-1 to 0-1 in front. However St Peter’s with wind assistance responded with three unanswered points through Eoin Moore and two Chris Wall frees, before a fine Michael O’Regan goal midway through the half helped them to a two points interval lead, (1-6 to 0-4).
However that was as good as it got for St Peter’s who failed to score again as a Richard Doyle-inspired Kilkenny side took control.
The winners hit 11 unanswered points while full-forward Martin Gaffney also stormed into the game with a string of points.
Kilkenny CBS now look forward to a semi-final clash with county colleagues, Castlecomer CS.
