Eglantine too hot for Beaumont in replay

Boosted by a sixth minute goal from Catriona Landers — her side’s top scorer with Lisa Smith — Eglantine held all the aces, especially when Beaumont lost Laura Wyse through injury.

With Kelly Diggin excellent in defence and Ellen Hayes a towering figure at midfield, Eglantine led 1-5 to 0-0 at the break and were well on their way.

A fortuitous second-half goal from Sarah Deasy, after a fine run, cemented their victory and with Rebecca Coughlan and Catriona Landers excellent up front they remained in control.

Sophie Varian and Katie Waterman were superb for Beaumont but it was not their day .
