Payne blasts injury-hit Brogan’s into final

DESPITE a host of injuries to key players, St Brogan’s qualified for the final of the Munster Vocational Schools SHC with a 10-point victory over Roscrea at Ballygarvan yesterday.

St Brogan’s lost talented midfielder Danny Twomey with a knee injury just five minutes after the start. Centre-back Tom Harrington was forced off with a hand injury in the second half while captain, Maurice Sexton, battled a leg complaint all through.

Nevertheless St Brogan’s proved superior to a Roscrea side that only threatened briefly.
