This one could take a while
On one side you have a panel of players who are noted the length and breadth of the country for their willingness to make a stand no matter who’s on the opposite side of the table — the GAA hierarchy, national television stations, administrators, whatever you’re having yourself. On the other side you have the very organisation against whom they made their bones when it comes to the standing-up-for-yourself stakes: their own county board.
Kicking off the latest imbroglio? A decision by that same body, the Cork County Board, to abolish the selectorial/management appointment system which has helped bring the county to five consecutive All-Ireland finals, in hurling and football, since 2002.
