Ronan’s late blast secures survival for disciplined Carbery

Moloney denied Derek O’Connor and John Paul Murphy with two great stops in the second half as St Vincent’s battled heroically, but Ronan’s goal in injury time put the issue beyond doubt. The losers didn’t help themselves though with poor discipline disrupting their play. Four St Vincent’s players were yellow carded in the opening half and referee Ger Sweeney could have justifiably been shown red on at least one occasion.

St Vincent’s took the lead with a point from centre-forward Gavin O’Connor, but Rangers quickly drew level following a great strike from impressive corner-forward James Fitzpatrick in the 12th minute.
