Kearns gets backing to lead O’Moore County next season

LIAM KEARNS was last night ratified as Laois senior football manager for a second year.

The Kerry man took over from Mick O’Dwyer last autumn and led the county to within one score of a Division One semi-final and the Leinster final where they lost to Dublin by six points.

Though an improvement on O’Dwyer’s final year in charge, Kearns came in for some criticism at a county board meeting some weeks back, with one delegate describing the team’s performance against Dublin as “ludicrous and crazy”.
