O’Riordan goal the difference as Muskerry claim win

A GOAL by Diarmuid O’Riordan after 20 minutes proved the decisive score in this Evening Echo County SHC replay at Ballinhassig last night but Kilkenny boss Brian Cody was left sweating on the fitness of John Tennyson after the Cats star went off after just ten minutes with what appeared to be a groin injury.

Cody will be hoping it’s not too serious as Kilkenny’s Leinster Championship semi-final against Offaly is just around the corner.

There was little to choose between the sides in the opening half during which they were level twice before the better stick-work of the students saw them hit over three points in a row to lead by double scores, 0-8 to 0-4, after 20 minutes of uninspiring hurling.
