On Saturday evening at 6pm, Pat O’Driscoll, the man who guided Ardfert to their first All-Ireland junior and intermediate club titles, stood on the sideline at Lerrig masterminding his side’s victory in their debut game in the Kerry Senior Football Championship.

The manner of their 3-5 to 1-10 win over Legion was less than impressive but few in Ardfert will quibble. A win secured top-flight status for next season.
